A Pizza Lover’s Guide to Naples Ristorante e Bar
By Timothy Robinson
As the newest intern wandering the pages of South County Magazine, I’ve learned that the best stories often begin at the table—and as a self proclaimed pizza aficionado, I know a great one when I taste it.
My latest assignment brought me to Naples Ristorante e Bar in the Downtown Disney District, where a summer evening quickly became a mini escape to Italy.
An Italian Evening in the Heart of Downtown Disney
With its inviting patio, lively dining room, and second-floor balcony overlooking the energy of Downtown Disney, Naples captures the feeling of an Italian evening where diners are meant to linger over meals. There’s no rush here. Guests settle in with conversation, share plates, sip something refreshing, and embrace the simple pleasure of gathering around good food.

Of course, I came for the pizza—and Naples delivered. The secret begins with Caputo flour imported from Naples, the same region that inspired the restaurant’s name and culinary roots. The dough emerges from the wood-fired oven with that perfect balance of a beautifully blistered crust, a tender center, and just enough chew to hold each carefully selected topping. The San Marzano tomatoes bring bright, authentic flavor, whether you’re enjoying the classic Margherita or the Prosciutto e Melone Bianche, a creative nod to the beloved Italian antipasto pairing salty prosciutto and sweet melon.
Before the pizza arrived, the Sicilian Arancini set the tone—crispy golden bites with a satisfying contrast between the crunchy exterior and rich, comforting filling. The menu continues its Italian journey with house-made pastas, including the coastal-inspired Linguine & Clams, reminiscent of the Campania region’s seaside flavors, and the Ravioli Pomodoro, where fresh tomato and basil create a beautifully simple dish.

Beyond the Pizza: Classic Italian Comfort with a Modern Touch
While Naples may be a dream destination for pizza lovers, the menu offers plenty for every palate. Heartier selections include thoughtfully prepared meat dishes that add a sophisticated touch to the Italian-inspired offerings, along with salmon entrées featuring fresh, vibrant flavors that feel right at home in a Mediterranean setting.
Pair the meal with an Aperol Spritz, a seasonal mocktail, or a crisp glass of pinot grigio, and suddenly the magic of la dolce vita feels wonderfully close. At Naples Ristorante e Bar, you don’t need a passport to experience the flavors, warmth, and leisurely spirit of Italy—you only need a seat at the table.
